Label frequency
How many times the additive name, including its aliases, appeared as a raw material across a 30,000-record sample of Korean MFDS manufacturing reports. It is a sample drawn from roughly 1.07 million records, so it indicates rank rather than absolute amount, and it is used only to order this list. A larger number means you are more likely to meet it on a label, not that more of it is present or that it is more harmful.

  • Warning Grade A-B evidence of large or moderate harm to the general population
  • Caution Grade A-B evidence of harm limited to a specific group, or appearing only at high intake
  • No concern found All harm evidence is grade C-D, or the harm size is minimal or none
  • Not yet reviewed The evidence has not been reviewed yet

Grades are not chosen by hand. The rules above compute the grade from the evidence table, and a test enforces that they match. Changing a grade requires changing the evidence.
